Bio

Tyler (Ty) Cuming brings Division I experience and tremendous expertise in the area of pitching, strength training, and leadership development, as he will help specifically with Ohlone's pitching staff.  The 2023-24 season will mark his 1st year at Ohlone College.

Coach Cuming comes to Ohlone via the East Coast, as he grew up in Red Bank, NJ and prepped at Christian Brothers Academy, where his team won the State Championship in 2009.  

After a brief stop at Carson Newman University, Coach Cuming transferred and played three years of Division I baseball at Merrimack College in Massachusetts, with his best season coming in 2014, when he saved five games and compiled an ERA of 3.82.  Most impressively is that in 30.2 innings of work, he struck out 25 and walked just six.  Cuming won five games over the course of his time at Merrimack, and was a vital part of the program's bullpen in each of his three seasons.  He majored in History at Merrimack.

He currently works for the United States Army and is a commissioned officer, currently holding the rank of Major.  

Coach Cuming currently resides with his wife in Pleasanton.
