Bio

Coach Cordova Marroquin enters his 6th season at the helm of  men’s soccer in the Fall of 2020. The men’s soccer program has shown steady improvement under Cordova Marroquin’s tutelage in terms of student- athlete population served, graduation and transfer rates as well as a steady growth in results. The Renegades are diligently seeking their first North Cal Playoff Berth since 2002 and Cordova Marroquin is confident that that vision will materialize within the next two years.

Cordova Marroquin is no stranger to Ohlone College spending his first 10 years as an assistant for the women’s soccer program since 2003. Program success included achieving a Nor Cal playoff berth in all but two of the seasons during his stint as assistant with the Women’s team. Cordova Marroquin has also been an adjunct English instructor at Ohlone since 2010.

Involvement in local communities illustrates Cordova Marroquin’s spirit of service. He worked with local Irvington high school boys soccer from 1999-2007 and Irvington’s girls soccer from 2008-2010. In the winter of 2010 he began work with the girls soccer program at Washington high school and is currently the head coach for boys soccer at the same school.

Cordova Marroquin has played competitively for NPSL and PDL teams including Real San Jose, East Bay Stompers, San Jose Frogs, and Salinas Valley Samba finally “hanging the boots” in 2015. He competed collegiate at Cal State Hayward and Ohlone College. In high School Cordova Marroquin played for the Irvington Vikings, fortunate enough to be able to achieve back to back North Coast Sections Championships in 1997 and 1998 the first for the school and the first to repeat.
