Bio

 

Courtney Owyang joined the Ohlone Volleyball program in 2019 as an assistant coach. Owyang brings over 7 years of playing experience to the Renegades. As a volleyball athlete at American High School, Owyang was voted Most Valuable Player and received the Coaches’ Award in all 4 years of her high school career. She was also selected to the Mission Valley Athletic League All-League team. Owyang also has extensive club volleyball experience having played for numerous clubs including Endline Volleyball Club, Altamont Volleyball, Club Kazi, and Lakas Volleyball Club. After graduating American High School, Owyang was recruited to play for the local NCAA Division Two program, California State East Bay Pioneers. During that time, Owyang also began her coaching career. At Tennyson High School, Owyang led the varsity team to its first NCS appearance in the school’s history. In 2013, Owyang began coaching for her former club, Lakas Volleyball Club. There she led numerous teams to division championships, which eventually landed her current role as Club Director. In 2022, Owyang coached her team to the program's first national bid for the AAU Nationals in Florida. Owyang loves to create bonds with every single player she encounters and is passionate about developing and providing the necessary tools for girls to succeed.
