2018: A Year To Be Proud Of

2018 was quite a year for the Renegades Volleyball program. It started off with two of the 2017 sophomores signing with NCAA Division II programs to continue their collegiate playing careers. We then had our annual crop of alumni athletes graduating from their respective 4 year universities. And lets not forget the current Ohlone athletes of the time, 5 of the 6 sophomores graduating and/or being accepted into their university of choice for fall or spring admission (the lone sophomore not transferring staying with the program to be part of our coaching staff). The 2018 team then took over the spotlight and started the season 4-0 with two tournament wins. The Renegades would finish their non-conference schedule with a 13-4 record. Just before conference play started former Renegade Volleyball athlete Hannah Finnigan would be awarded 2018 Ohlone College Female Athlete of the Year at the 34th Annual Ohlone College Golf Tournament. The 2018 team would then go on to finish the season 8-4 in Coast Conference South play and 21-8 overall, qualifying for the playoffs for the first time since 2012. Once in the playoffs the team would again make history by winning their first round match, something that hadn't been done in over 30 years. The cherry on top for the year was the selection of four athletes to the Coast Conference South All-Conference First & Second Teams. 2018 was awesome for our family, and Renegades past and present hope to continue to make waves and memories in 2019!
