Renegades Finish Abbreviated 2020 Ranked Number 1 in all of California

Ohlone College will finish ranked number 1 in the entire state of California, according to JBB.net, and independent media outlet that covers JUCO baseball across the nation.  The season officially ended, along with the seasons of every collegiate team across the nation, during the March 13th week of 2020.  The Renegades' final game of the season was an 18-5 home victory over Cabrillo.  The next day, the CCCAA suspended (and ultimately canceled) the rest of the 2020 season.  The Renegades finished the season with a 19-2 overall record, and a 2-0 conference record.

The season ended with some incredibile accomplishments from several players.  Ryan Robinson led the pitching staff with a perfect 6-0 record and a 3.03 ERA in 38.2 innings.  Tyler Stultz also didn't lose a start.  The lefty from Granada HS in Livermore finished 5-0 with a 3.45 ERA in 31.1 innings.  Most impressively, he walked only nine batters while striking out 34.  Cooper Vasquez, Max Gonzales, and Zac Heinz also played big roles on the mound for the Renegades.

Offensively, the Renegades finished #1 in all of California in nine offensive categories, including batting average, on-base average, slugging percentage, and doubles.  Bradlee Preap ended up as the state batting champion at .462 and Matt Paolomino (.412) led the nation in doubles at 14.  Brad Norton (.479), Max Heverly (.438), Zach Patterson (.397), and Jared Mazzaferro (.391) all hit over .390 on the season to help the Renegades to an overall average of .362.

Ohlone was on a quest for their 4th straight conference title. It will now have to wait until 2021.
