Renegades open season at CCSF Invitational

The Ohlone College men's swimming team officially opened the 2024 season on Feb. 9-10 at the CCSF Invitational in San Francisco. Highlights from the event included:

Moataz Bayoumi- 50 Fly
As Ohlone opened up the season in San Francisco, freshman Moataz Bayoumi made a splash in his first individual event as a Renegade. Bayoumi swam a 25.18 in the 50 yard Butterfly, finishing second overall among all swimmers in that event. The Butterfly specialist will continue to light up Butterfly races all season long.
 
Men's 200 Freestyle Relay
In the final event of the team's trip to San Francisco, the Men's 200 Freestyle Relay swam an awesome race. Sophomores Chris James and Fabian Taplin, along with freshmen Arjan Behrooz and Martin Laus swam a 1:41.71, finishing sixth overall for the event.  
 
Arjan Behrooz- 100 Breast
On Day 1 of a two day trip to the City, the freshman, Behrooz, had a great swim in the 100 yard Breaststroke. Arjan finished with a 1:15.88, sneaking him into the Top 20 of a highly competitive event. The first of many impressive swims in this event for the freshman Breaststroker.

Up next: The Renegades are back in action on Feb. 23 at the Coast Conference Kickoff at Las Positas College in Livermore.
