Bio
Nick Sanzeri begins his first year with Ohlone College in the 2025 season. He will take on the role of Head Pitching Coach at Ohlone College, as he takes over a staff that had three arms sign with Division I schools after the 2024 season (Ethan Foley / Cal; Jayden Harper / Fullerton; Ray Hernandez / Utah Valley). Sanzeri spent the 2024 season as the pitching coach at NCAA Division I University of Pacific, who competes in one of the best Division I conferences in nation, the WCC.
Sanzeri’s experience with training pitchers is extensive, as he brings a wealth of knowledge and employs technology and high-level technology to develop arms. “He studies and lives pitching,” said Head Coach Mike Curran. “He is familiar with all the different technologies and stays up-to-date with all the current trends and pitching aids that continually hit the market. What’s most impressive too, is that he doesn’t use the same aid for every guy. He may use a load harness for one guy, an aqua bag for another, or an arm brace for another. It’s all individualized training for him. He analyzes what each guy needs to develop his talent.”
Besides coaching at the Division I level, Sanzeri is no stranger to CCCAA baseball. Sanzeri spent six seasons as the pitching coach at Mission (2018 – 23) and also spent a season at College of San Mateo (2017) as well. Most impressively though, Sanzeri started Sanzeri Pitching, where he specializes in private lessons and specialized training to help high school and college-aged players. He has worked with nearly 75 players who have been drafted into Major League Baseball (with close to 20 of them making it to the Big Leagues). Additionally, he’s worked with players who have pitched for Team USA. This summer, he accepted a new role – he will serve as the Head Coach for the Menlo Park Legends, who play in the California Collegiate League (CCL).
“I coached against Nick’s pitching staffs for almost 10 seasons,” said Head Coach Mike Curran. “Every year, his guys were the hardest throwers, extremely tough kids, and always prepared. When looking for a pitching coach to run a college staff, I want a guy who connects with kids, who is organized, and who develops guys. Nick does all three. I am thrilled to finally be coaching with him, instead of against him. He’s a ton of fun to be around, he’s always working with our pitchers, and he’s really good at developing.”
Sanzeri received his degree in Communications from Notre Dame de Namur University in 2016. He is married to his wife Sofia, and they currently reside in Los Gatos.
