Ohlone Men's Basketball Beats Cañada and San Mateo on the Road

FREMONT, CA - The Ohlone College Renegades continued their winning ways to push their record to 16-8, competing in the prestigious Coast-North Conference which is the top ranked junior college conference in California. Ohlone College beat Cañada on the road to even the season series 1-1 behind a stellar team defensive effort, holding Cañada to 27% from the field and forcing 20 turnovers along the way. Ohlone College has been ranked state-wide as a top 10 defensive team for the entire season. Offensively, Ohlone scoring was led by two freshmen, Omar Babikir and Gabriel Lopez.
On Friday, Ohlone went on the road and beat College of San Mateo 71-62 in one of their best offensive performances of the season. Omar Babikir led the way with 18 points on 8-12 FG and Sam Manzo had 14 points shooting 4-9 from 3-point range. "Our best basketball is still ahead of us," said head coach Jordan Lee following the win. "I love the way we have responded to adversity by rallying around each other - team first."
This week, Ohlone hosts San Francisco on Wednesday at 7PM and travels to Las Positas on Friday.
