Renegades cruise to 8-1 win over Diablo Valley

FREMONT – The Ohlone College men's tennis team secured its fifth win of the season thanks to an 8-1 non-conference victory over visiting Diablo Valley College on Monday.
The Renegades set the tone early in the match by sweeping all three doubles contests. Ohlone got an 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles from the duo of Bohdi Warden and Silas Chen as well as an 8-1 triumph from Lucas Gobaco and Julian Valdez at No. 2. At No. 3, John Martinez and Hasher Khan earned the victory by default.
Ohlone went on to win five of six singles matches to secure the team victory.
Chen (No. 1) was a 6-2, 6-4 winner, Warden (No. 2) took his match 6-2, 6-4, Gobaco (No. 4) won 6-1, 6-1, Martinez (No. 5) came out on top 6-1, 7-5, and Khan (No. 6) won by default.
The Renegades improved to 5-4 overall. They are next scheduled to play on Thursday (Mar. 27) against Modesto Junior College.
