Renegades open Coast Conference with win at San Mateo

SAN MATEO – The Ohlone College men's water polo team got off to a great start in Coast Conference play thanks to an 18-7 win at College of San Mateo on Wednesday.

The Renegades opened with a 3-1 lead in the first quarter before taking a 9-4 advantage into halftime. Ohlone outscored CSM 9-4 over the second half to cruise to the victory.

Freshman Logan Granzella erupted for 8 goals and added a pair of assists to lead Ohlone. Avery Ramirez and Hunter Putnam posted 3 goals each, Nathan Young scored twice, while Arjan Behrooz and Teddy Gregorian chipped in with a goal each.

Joshua Hsieh totaled 8 saves in goal for the Renegades to post the win.

Ohlone improved to 2-3 overall and 1-0 in the Coast Conference. The Renegades return to action next Wednesday (Oct. 4) when they travel to Merced College for a conference game.
