Renegades finish fourth at Coast Conference Championships; earn 4 All-Conference honors

MERCED – The Ohlone College men's water polo team closed out the 2023 season with a fourth-place finish at the Coast Conference Championships. The two-day event was held Nov. 3-4 at Merced College.

The highlight of the weekend was the Renegades' narrow 14-13 win over Las Positas College on Friday. The Renegades were able to hold off a fourth-quarter rally by LPC to earn the victory.

Nathan Young led Ohlone with 4 goals, Hunter Putman had 3 goals, while Logan Granzella, Avery Ramirez, and Teddy Gregorian scored twice. Arjan Behrooz also tallied a goal.

Ohlone nearly came away with another win but suffered a 15-12 loss to host Merced on Saturday. Ramirez had a team-high 4 goals while Young and Granzella scored twice.

The Renegades ended the season with a 5-15 overall record and went 3-5 in Coast Conference games.

ALL-COAST CONFERENCE POSTSEASON AWARDS

Four members of the Ohlone College men's water polo team were recognized by the Coast Conference and earned all-conference honors.

Nathan Young was a first-team All-Coast Conference selection while Logan Granzella was selected second-team. Named Honorable Mention were Avery Ramirez and Arjan Behrooz.
