Renegades return to pool for Coast Conference Kickoff
The Ohlone College men's and women's swimming teams were back in action on Feb. 23 at the Coast Conference Kickoff held at Las Positas College in Livermore. Highlights from the event included:
 
Teagan Rees- 1650 Free
In her first meet as a Renegade, freshman Teagan Rees showed her versatility in both the 200 IM and the 100 Breaststroke. But Rees especially lit up the 1650 Freestyle, finishing second overall. Teagan finished the mile with a time of 22:19.25, etching the 6th fastest time in school history for the Women's mile!
 
Fabian Taplin- 500 Free
Fabian Taplin made his mark in the 500 Freestyle during Ohlone's regular season Kick Off Meet at Las Positas College. The sophomore swam a 5:08.68, which finished 1st overall among all swimmers. The versatile distance swimmer has his eyes set on many more long, incredible swims this season.
 
Christopher James- 100 Free
The sophomore sprinter had an incredible swim in the 100 Freestyle to kick off the regular season. Christopher finished 2nd in his heat and 9th overall in a highly contested 100 Freestyle sprint, swimming a time of 54.35, a whole second faster than his time two weeks prior in San Francisco. Expect electric swims from him all season long in the 50 and 100 Freestyle.

Up next: The Renegades will compete at the Marin Invitational on March 8 at College of Marin.
