Renegades improve to 3-0 on the season with pair of sweeps at home

FREMONT – The unbeaten start to the 2024 season continued for the Ohlone College women's volleyball team thanks to a pair of non-conference wins at home on Saturday.
The Renegades dominated the competition, defeating both visiting Porterville College and Mendocino College by 3-0 sweeps.
Savanah Le and Hannah Issenmann both had big matches for Ohlone in the 25-19, 25-10, 25-23 victory against Porterville. Le totaled 12 kills and 13 digs while Issenmann had 12 kills on just 18 attempts (.667 hitting pct.).
Kaylie Gomes led with 23 digs and Ruby Santos posted 27 assists.
The Renegades were just as impressive in a 25-18, 25-16, 25-16 win over Mendocino.
Issenmann even more efficient, slamming down 12 kills on 16 attempts (.750 pct.) with 3 digs and a pair of blocks. Tiamaye Carlton had 7 kills while Avery Bland and Rilee Nobori contributed 6 kills each.
Le had another good all-around match with 5 kills, 7 digs, and 4 aces. Santos paced the offense with 23 assists to go along with a team-high 15 digs.
Ohlone returns to action on Wednesday (Sep. 4) when the Renegades travel to the Central Valley for a pair of matches at Coalinga College. Ohlone is set to take on host Coalinga and Los Medanos College.
