Ohlone’s Courtney Owyang-Paras named AVCA Thirty Under 30 Award winner

Ohlone College women's volleyball head coach Courtney Owyang-Paras has been named a recipient of the 2025 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Thirty Under 30 Award.

The AVCA Thirty Under 30 program recognizes up-and-coming coaches in different sectors of the sport who serve in a range of roles, from head coach to volunteer assistant to club director at the college, high school, or club level. Each of this year's recipients had to be age 30 or under as of Dec. 31, 2024, to qualify for the award.

Owyang-Paras was recognized for her work with Ohlone and Lakas Volleyball Club. She was the only coach at the California community college level to receive the award. 

Owyang-Paras led the Renegades to an impressive 2024 season that saw the squad compile a 23-8 overall record, reach the second round of the Northern California Playoffs, and achieve a top-20 state ranking.
