Ohlone named No. 23 seed for Northern California Playoffs

The Ohlone College men's basketball team is headed back to the postseason for the second straight season. On Sunday, the Renegades were named the No. 23 seed for the upcoming Northern California Regional Playoffs.

Ohlone is set to travel to No. 10-seed Fresno City College for a first-round game on Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. Ticket prices for the California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A) postseason game are $12 for general admission and $8 for all identified students, faculty, staff, senior citizens age 60 and over, and children under 12 years old.

The Renegades enter the playoffs with a 14-14 overall record and finished tied for fifth place in the final Coast Conference North Division standings at 4-8 under head coach Jordan Lee.

Ohlone will look to exceed last year's accomplishment of reaching the postseason. In their opening-round game last season, the Renegades suffered a 72-66 loss to Butte College.

No. 10 Fresno wrapped up its regular season with a 17-11 overall record and were was third in the Central Valley Conference with a 10-4 mark. Ohlone and Fresno will be meeting for the first time this season.

The winner of Wednesday's match up will move on to a second-round game at No. 7 Cabrillo College (23-5) on Saturday. Three wins are needed by the Renegades to advance to the 3C2A State Championships on March 15-17 at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut.
